Janet integrates with several Oncologists as the Nutritionist for their cancer patients. Janet has long been involved in research about cancer and nutrition, particularly for individuals undergoing conventional treatment such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, immunotherapy, and hormone treatment. She has also worked extensively with clients during and after their cancer/auto-immune treatment to help with means of reducing the likelihood of metastasis, tumour growth, and inflammation, as well as building good health, weight management, immune modulation, and well-being.

Janet has written the cancer chapter for the book, "Clinical Naturopathy" by Sarris and Wardle (2010) and Edition 2 *2015). She also assisted Henry Osieki in writing the book "Cancer: a biochemical and nutritional approach," both Editions 1 and 2.

 

 

Janet also has numerous publications, predominately in cancer and auto-immune diseases.

 

Janet works closely with organisations such as the Mater Private Breast Cancer Clinic and the Kim Walters Choice Program, giving nutritional seminars and advice.

 

 

Clinical Trials

 

Dr Schloss conducts numerous clinical trials. However, her most famous trial which she was Chief investigator and creator, was the Phase 2 Trial assessing the tolerability of Medicinal Cannabis and Glioblastoma. This trial compares two different ratios of specially made medicinal cannabis for people with aggressive brain tumours. The results of this trial showed that both combinations of cannabis were well tolerated. In addition, by 2 1/2 years post-trial (5-7 years post-diagnosis), 47% of participants were still alive, with all but 2 still taking medicinal cannabis. 

 

Stress and Anxiety

Stress and anxiety in today's society is one of the major issues people face on a daily basis. Janet has had extensive experience with working with people who are struggling with these issues during various periods of their life. Having had personal experience with anxiety, Janet knows a number of different as aspects to assist people experiencing this disorder.

Fertility, Pregnancy and Menopause/Andropause

Janet has had a lot of experience working with women wanting to become pregnant and women/men going through the IVF process. Janet also works with women facing issues during and after their pregnancy due to hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies or digestive disorders.

Janet also works with women going through per-menopause and menopause as well as men going through andropause.

PhD with the School of Medicine, The University of Queensland

Janet completed her PhD at the University of Queensland located at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Woolloongabba, Brisbane 2015. She is conducting a clinical trial on "The Efficacy and Safety of B vitamins in reducing the incidence of Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy."

This clinical trial was completed in December 2013.
